My name is  Yanjun Li, I now work as an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Economics and Management, Tohoku University, Japan. I was born and raised in China (Guangxi) and professionally trained in Economics in Italy. I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Bologna in 2019, and worked at the IUD, Nanjing Audit University from 2019 to 2022, and at the HIAS, Hitotsubashi University from 2022 to 2023.

​My research interests are development economics, quantitative history, and political economy.
